This service allows us to provide Triptans to eligible patients without the need for a prescription, ensuring quick and effective relief for migraine sufferers. Here’s a summary of what we offer:

 

What We Provide:

• Triptan Products: We supply a range of Triptans, including Sumatriptan, Almotriptan, Eletriptan, Frovatriptan, Naratriptan, Rizatriptan, and Zolmitriptan, in both tablet and nasal spray forms.

• Dosage & Administration: We provide the correct dosage for each Triptan product, with clear instructions on how to take them (e.g., swallowing tablets whole or using nasal sprays).

• Frequency: Patients can take a single dose per migraine attack, with a second dose allowed after 2 hours if needed (maximum 2 doses in 24 hours).

• Quantity: We supply up to 10 tablets or vials per month to prevent medication overuse.

 

Who Can Use This Service:

• Eligibility: Patients aged 18-65 who have been diagnosed with migraine (with or without aura) and have given valid consent.

• Exclusions: Patients with certain medical conditions (e.g., pregnancy, cardiovascular risks, hypersensitivity to Triptans) are excluded from this service.

 

Safety & Monitoring:

• Cautions: We carefully assess patients for any contraindications or risks (e.g., cardiovascular issues, medication interactions) before supplying Triptans.

• Adverse Reactions: We monitor for side effects (e.g., dizziness, chest tightness) and provide guidance on managing them. Serious reactions are reported via the Yellow Card scheme.

• Follow-Up: We follow up with patients after their first Triptan supply to assess effectiveness and tolerability.

 

Patient Support:

• Advice: We provide clear advice on how to use Triptans, potential side effects, and migraine management strategies (e.g., avoiding triggers, using a headache diary).

• Consent: We ensure patients give valid consent before supplying Triptans and explain how their data will be stored and used.
